Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. plans to bring its first Nordstrom Rack to North Carolina with a new 33,000-square-foot store to be located at Renaissance Center in Durham. The Rack store will join existing retailers at the center such as Cost Plus World Market, Pier 1 Imports, REI, Old Navy, Babies “R” Us and Best Buy. Renaissance Center is owned and managed by CBL & Associates Properties Inc. (Boston).

“We are excited about this opportunity to open a Nordstrom Rack in the Raleigh/Durham area and provide our customers with another way to shop with us,” says Scott Meden, president of Nordstrom Rack. “Renaissance Center is a convenient, easily-accessible shopping destination with an outstanding mix of retailers.”

The company's off-price retail division carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com at 50-60 percent off original Nordstrom prices, as well as apparel, accessories and shoes purchased specially for the discount store.

The parent company operates 184 stores located in 28 states, including 112 full-line Nordstrom stores, 69 Nordstrom Racks, two Jeffrey boutiques and one clearance store.
