Retailer, children's wear manufacturer enter exclusive licensing agreement

Target Stores (Minneapolis) has announced a multi-product, multi-year licensing agreement with OshKosh B'Gosh Inc. (Oshkosh, Wis.).

Under the terms of the licensing agreement, Osh Kosh B'Gosh will launch a sub-brand “Genuine Kids from OshKosh,” designed by OshKosh B'Gosh exclusively for Target Stores. The new sub-brand will focus on children's apparel and accessories in sizes infant to 6X/7 and will be available in all Target Stores nationwide beginning in fall 2003.

The agreement comes a month after Target's Mervyn's division signed a deal with the Wisconsin children's apparel manufacturer to set up merchandise shops in the 267 Mervyn's stores later this year.

“Clearly, more and more consumers are shopping with greater frequency at more value-oriented channels,” said OshKosh B'Gosh president and ceo Douglas Hyde, ” making Target Stores an excellent match for our merchandise. Target has done a remarkable job of differentiating itself in the marketplace.”
