palmOne Inc. (Milpitas, Calif.) has added a new store to Boston Logan International Airport.

The store in Terminal B, is one of the company’s 10 airport locations nationwide, and the third at Logan.

Airport stores have proven to be a successful sales strategy for the mobile computing company. palmOne opened its first airport store more than a year ago, and today has stores in Atlanta, Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Washington National. The company said that at Boston Logan, approximately 50 percent of the more than 26 million travelers who pass through the airport each year are business travelers.

“We’re making it easier for our customers to buy products by reaching them where they are,” said Kanwal Sharma, director of palmOne Retail Stores.

palmOne said its stores also benefit sales in other retail outlets — more than 31 percent of shoppers who stop at the palmOne Retail Stores purchase from other retail partners. Including the new Boston Logan store, there are now 14 palmOne mall- and airport-based stores. In addition to its three Boston Logan airport stores, the company also has a retail location in the city’s Prudential Center.
