Paul Harris Docks Flagship

Amid 40 closings, so goes Indianapolis showcase

While trying to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy court protection, Paul Harris Stores Inc. is closing 40 doors. This includes an 18,000-square-foot flagship in a high-rent district of Indianapolis, which closed last week.

The moderately priced women's apparel retailer stated that 4000 square feet is its desired store size. Part of the company's restructuring plan will include reducing its career apparel in favor of more knit and sweater categories.

Also closing in a few weeks is a one-year-old, 14,000-square-foot store on Chicago's Michigan Avenue.
