Petco Hires New Execs

John Zavada and William Engen join team

Petco (San Diego) has tapped John Zavada to become its senior vp and chief information officer. The pet specialty retailer also created a new position, senior vp, retail market expansion, and filled it with William Engen.

“We're pleased to welcome these two proven leaders to the Petco team,” Petco CEO Jim Myers said in a press release. “I'm confident their combined experience and expertise will strengthen our ability to achieve our goals, continue to grow and further deliver on our brand promise to nurture powerful relationships between people and pets for better lives together.”

Zavada’s previous experience was with Restoration Hardware, Guitar Center, Big Lots, Limited Inc. and Victoria's Secret. Engen has served in roles with 7-Eleven, Circuit City, Bachrach Clothing and Saks Fifth Avenue.
