MANAGEMENT CHANGES

Construction management firm Shawmut Design and Construction (Boston) appointed Les Hiscoe to the position of coo and executive vp. In his new role, Hiscoe will focus on developing the company’s field services divisions, along with national business in retail, hospitality, gaming and sports venues. Hiscoe most recently served as vp of development in the Tri-State region for Shawmut.

Covington, Ky.-based Architectural Group International (AGI) – which provides design, documentation and program management services for international retailers, developers and franchisees – hired Timothy Wilhelm as an architect. Wilhelm will be responsible for preparation of design, technical documents and project coordination for AGI’s retail and hospitality clientele.

DAVACO Inc. (Dallas), provider of turnkey retail and restaurant service solutions, hired Jason Melvin as general counsel. In this position, Melvin will oversee corporate legal policies, business practices, insurance and risk management.

Design and manufacturing firm CM Design Studio (New York) appointed Tony Mancini as president for the Alex Cannon brand. Mancini previously served as senior vp of Capital Improvements for the MGM MIRAGE Design Group in Las Vegas.

Design firm FRCH Design Worldwide (Cincinnati) added three people to its staff: Craig Heilmann, project coordinator; Robert Lucas, interior designer; and Melanie Zurad, studio administrator.

Lighting manufacturer MaxLite (West Caldwell, N.J.) named William J. Fenimore as director of sales, outdoor lighting. In his new position, Fenimore will work closely with MaxLite’s sales agencies to develop outdoor LED lighting programs for municipalities, DOTs, architects, designers and specifiers across North America.

Nagold, Germany-based The Häfele Group, supplier of furniture and architectural hardware components, named Paul K. Smith president of Häfele America Co., the company’s North American subsidiary.

Retail construction firm Englewood Construction Inc. (Chicago) hired Lance Beeler as manager of pre-construction services. Beeler will organize and lead estimating efforts for the company.

San Jose, based-Philips Lumileds, provider of LEDs, appointed Pierre Yves Lesaicherre to ceo. He joins the company with more than two decades of experience in the semiconductor and component industry.

STORE OPENINGS

Frozen yogurt brand Pinkberry (Los Angeles) has signed a multi-unit franchise agreement with A5 Group – a management, marketing and entertainment company – to open six Pinkberry stores in Las Vegas.

Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. plans to open a 42,000-square-foot, two-level Nordstrom Rack in Tysons Corner, Va., during fall 2012. Nordstrom Rack will open in a former Filene's Basement space in a 215,000-square-foot mixed-use project. When it opens, the Tysons Corner Rack store will be the ninth in the Washington D.C. metropolitan region. Nordstrom also operates nine full-line stores in the area.

Columbus, Ohio-based photographer Mark A. Steele was selected to exhibit dozens of his images documenting leading retail concepts at the 2012 National Retail Federation’s (NRF) Annual Convention & Expo, held January 15 to 18.

Greensboro, N.C.-based hardwood, plywood and veneer manufacturer CFP Components, a division of Columbia Forest Products, has acquired cabinet manufacturer Cabinotch.

InteliCoat Technologies (South Hadley, Mass.), manufacturer of coated paper, film and specialty substrates for digital imaging applications, has expanded its sales team with Dave Burgos as inside sales representative and Candice Bakke as national telesales representative.
