Plywood Supplier Closes Plant

Willamette Industries will eliminate about 250 jobs

Willamette Industries, the Albany, Ore.-based supplier of plywood, particle board, MDF and other wood products to the retail industry, will close its plywood plant in Ruston, Va., by the end of the year, thereby eliminating almost 250 jobs. Plant operations will be phased out during the balance of the year, with the plant shutting for good on Jan. 1, 2001.
