Bankruptcy court approves closing and liquidation of 64 shoe stores

SLJ Retail Inc. (Smyrna, Ga.) said it has received bankruptcy court approval to close 64 Sam & Libby shoe stores.

Liquidation of all inventory, via “going out of business” sales, will begin immediately, to be conducted by The Ozer Group (Needham, Mass.).

The closings involve 13 stores in Georgia, 11 in Texas, 10 in California, five in Louisiana, four in Illinois, three in North Carolina, two each in Florida, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Tennessee, and one each in Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Nevada and South Carolina.
