Sears Cuts 300 Jobs

Eliminations come mostly at corporate offices

Sears Holdings Corp. (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) notified about 300 employees last Friday that their jobs were being eliminated.

The positions were being cut at the company's headquarters as well as at offices in Troy, Mich. (the old Kmart headquarters office) and at a New York City design center.

The job cuts represent roughly 4 percent of what had been a corporate workforce of about 6900.
