Starbucks Plans to Open 12,000 New Stores

Starbucks (Seattle) announced its plans for opening new stores and hiring more workers. The company plans to open 12,000 new stores, of which 3500 will be located in the U.S. and 100 of those will be military family stores.

As for employment, the company plans to create 240,000 new jobs, of which 68,000 will be in the U.S. More specifically, the company plans to hire 25,000 veterans and military spouses by 2025. (It has met its goal of hiring 10,000 military veterans by 2018.)

It also has increased its hiring goal for “opportunity youth.”  It has surpassed its original goal of hiring 10,000 and now plans to hire 100,000 of these youth by 2020. So far, it has hired 40,000, reports Yahoo Finance.
