Target Australia Stores Add Amenities

Designed to keep customers shopping longer

Published

Target (Minneapolis) is opening new stores in Australia designed to keep customers in store longer with a variety of services, such as a T-shirt printing station where shoppers can have personalized T-shirts printed on-demand.

It is also offering a free personalized shopping service to aid shoppers and an expanded café with servers and coffee baristas. The store design itself has also been overhauled to be more open so customers can more easily navigate the store.

This new-format store has already been introduced in Frankston and Victoria, Australia, and three more will be launched throughout Sydney next year.

According to News Corp Australia, the revamp is an effort to distinguish the retailer from rival chain Kmart (Hoffman Estates, Ill.).
