Target (Minneapolis) announced plans to expand its fleet of stores throughout New York as well as introduce same-day delivery throughout the city.

The retailer announced plans to open its fourth location in Manhattan in March 2018. Located in the city’s Lower East Side, the store will be one of its smaller-format ones, measuring about 22,500 square feet.

“There’s no other place like Manhattan — it’s a thrill for us to be expanding here,” said Tony Roman, senior group vice president of New York stores.

As the company expands its footprint, it is also introducing a test service offering same-day delivery for in-store purchases made at its Tribeca store. The service will carry a small fee and will be available for deliveries throughout Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn and Queens, reports Chain Store Age.
