The Timberland Co. (Stratham, N.H.) opened a 2300-square-foot store at the Westfield Centre  in San Francisco. The location is one of the outdoor brand's most eco-friendly stores to-date with features such as reclaimed wood and industrial machinery for table bases, Ecotech recycled stoneware floor tiles, FSC-certified woods and LED lighting.

The space also has Energy Star-eligible equipment and appliances, low-VOC paints and water-conserving plumbing fixtures. A San Francisco-themed mural celebrating green spaces throughout the Bay Area is also on display.

In March, the brand opened a store in Boston and additional Timberland retail locations are scheduled to open in New York and other key markets later this year.
