Tommy Bahama Names VP, Creative Services

Ferdinand Van Alphen will assume post immediately

Seattle-based Tommy Bahama, owned by Tommy Bahama Group Inc., a subsidiary of Oxford Industries, hired Ferdinand Van Alphen as vp, creative services. Van Alphen will be responsible for the creative expression and branding strategies for all channels of the business, including men’s, women’s, wholesale, retail, ecommerce and restaurants.

“The Tommy Bahama brand is our most valuable asset and I’m excited to have someone as talented as Ferdinand join our team to help bring it to life,” says ceo Terry Pillow. “This job requires an understanding of our rich history and the ability to translate our aesthetic to all facets of the company.”

Van Alphen’s more than 20-year career includes serving as senior creative at Tommy Hilfiger in the U.S. and Europe. He most recently owned a creative consulting agency where his projects included Vertu Mobile Phones, Boss fragrance, Pringles and Liebeskind Berlin.
