Top Retail Design Firms of 2016

VMSD presents its annual Retail Design Firm Resource Guide

Twenty-two years and still going strong, VMSD’s annual Retail Design Firm Resource Guide features a comprehensive listing of contract design firms, design consultancies, independent designers, and architecture and construction firms from around the world – from the U.K. to India to Argentina and beyond.

Each listing – unless non-disclosed – features notable projects completed in 2015, as well as current contact information. And don’t forget to check out the Rankings by Design Firm Fees chart on page 46 of the May issue, and below, derived from total retail design firm fees disclosed by participating design firms. Information in this guide, including fees (where applicable), was provided by individual firms and has not been independently verified by VMSD magazine.

Design firms interested in participating in the 2017 Resource Guide should contact Managing Editor Carly Hagedon at

Embracing Whole-Brained Thinking in the Design Journey

Strategy needs creative, and creative needs strategy—yep, having both is really the only way of unifying all disciplines with a common vernacular with an eye toward building a strong creative vision that is foundational to the processes. Hear from Bevan Bloemendaal, former VP, Global Environments & Creative Services at Timberland, how to connect the dots between disciplines, claiming and creating a clear differentiation for the brand and ensuring that any asset (experience, product, ad, store, office, home, video, game) is created with intention.
