John Mehas has been tapped as the new president of New York-based Tory Burch Inc.

Previously, Mehas spent 15 years at Ralph Lauren Corp. (New York), where he was Club Monaco’s ceo for 13 years, reports Women’s Wear Daily. He replaces Brigitte Kleine, who resigned as president in August after 12 years.

“John is a proven leader and an innovative thinker with vast knowledge of the global retail landscape,” said Tory Burch, chairman and co-ceo, adding that his appointment comes “as we accelerate our efforts to further scale the business while maintaining our focus on long-term growth.”
