The May Department Stores Co. (St. Louis) named Andrew Hall chairman of its Houston-based Foley's division, effective immediately. He succeeds Mark Weikel.

Andrew Pickman will remain Foley's president and ceo.

Senior vp and cfo of Foley's since 2002, Hall has been with the May retail organization for 10 years. He joined the company in 1993 as director of financial reporting at the St. Louis corporate office and, in 1994, was promoted to vp of accounting and reporting. In 1998, he was named vp of store operations at Washington, D.C.-based Hecht's, and in 1999 senior vp and cfo of Pittsburgh-based Kaufmann's.

“We are very fortunate to have an executive of Andy's expertise and accomplishments to assume this important position at Foley's,” said company president John Dunham. “He brings nearly 10 years of experience in our financial and operations functions to this position. Drew Pickman and Andy will be a strong management team for this division that operates 67 stores in five states and had sales of $2 billion in fiscal 2002.”

Foley's opened a new store in Houston during March — its 16th store in the market and 67th store in total. Two additional stores are scheduled to open in August, one in Dallas and one in Lake Charles, La.
