Estée Lauder (New York) is in talks to buy luxury fashion label Tom Ford for a sum in the $3 billion neighborhood, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The cosmetics company isn’t Tom Ford’s only suitor, but if the deal comes to fruition, it would be Estèe Lauder’s largest-ever acquisition.

Tom Ford is known for its menswear, but it also has a high-end line of cosmetics and fragrances. Estée Lauder, according to the outlet, is most interested in the beauty business and could look to license the clothing lines elsewhere.
