Nike (Beaverton, Ore.) is launching a “Refurbished” program in 15 of its U.S. stores, according to a press release. At select locations, the retailer plans to take returns for like-new or gently used footwear. Items will then be cleaned and resold at a discount through Nike stores.

The initial 15 participating locations are Nike Factory outlet stores, but the retailer plans to roll out the program to Nike Community and Nike Unite stores as well.

Items that are not able to be restored will be recycled into other products through the retailer’s Nike Grind initiative; others will be donated to a community partner.
