Brisbane, Calif.-based Bebe Stores Inc. appointed Ben Baum to the newly created position of chief digital officer. He will report to Manny Mashouf, chairman and ceo.

Baum most recently served as head of business development for shopping at Google. Prior to that position, he was senior group manager of merchandising at Target.

Baum's role at Bebe will focus on elevating the brand’s omni-channel shopping experience. “We look forward to leveraging his digital expertise as we continue to make major investments and upgrades in our digital platforms and infrastructure including mobile, order fulfillment and social media,” Mashouf says.
