Burberry CFO, COO Julie Brown to Depart Company

Brown’s exit follows the recent resignation of Burberry’s CEO

Burberry’s (London) CFO and COO Julie Brown is departing after six years with the company, according to Evening Standard. Brown’s exit follows former Burberry CEO Marco Gobbetti’s departure earlier this year.

Gobbetti resigned in February to join Florence-based Salvatore Ferragamo as its CEO and General Manager, after working to to polish Burberry’s standing as a couture fashion house. Brown, a former AstraZeneca executive, will join GSK as its new CFO, Sky News reports. Burberry’s shares fell 9 percent over the last year.

Brown said, “It has been a privilege to serve as Burberry’s COO and CFO. As a group, we have strengthened our brand and business and taken an industry-leading position in sustainability.”
