(PRESS RELEASE) TORONTO — Figure3 announces that Mardi Najafi, Vice President of Retail Strategy and Design, is the first Canadian recipient of the prestigious Legion of Honor Award by the Retail Design Institute. The 52nd International Design Awards took place live in New York City on October 10, 2023.

Mardi Najafi, an award-winning designer with over 25 years of experience, has left an indelible mark on the design landscape. His journey, from Paris to New York and Toronto, reflects a career dedicated to transforming branded retail environments for both small businesses and Fortune 500 brands. Notable clients include Coca Cola Canada, Adidas, Virgin Mobile, Penguin Shop, and Versace.

Mardi’s role as the Vice President of Retail Strategy and Design at Figure3 showcases his passion for creating unique and immersive retail experiences. His commitment to innovation is further evidenced by his active involvement in industry education and mentorship. Mardi is not only an accomplished speaker and panelist but also serves as the President of Retail Design Institute Canada.

The Legion of Honor Award is a prestigious accolade presented by Retail Design Institute to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and impact in the field of retail design. The award ceremony took place at the 52nd International Design Awards live in New York City, hosted by International President Cynthia Hirsch Ortiz and International Chairman Ray Ehscheid. The event was simulcast throughout the Institute, bringing together design professionals from around the world.
