Gap Inc. (San Francisco) has sold Janie and Jack, a children’s fashion brand, to brand investment platform Go Global Retail (New York) for an undisclosed amount, according to a press release. Go Global will take over the brand’s e-commerce and more than 115 U.S. stores. The sale is expected to close April 2.

Gap bought the two decades-old brand, which offers sizes from newborn through tween, in 2019 for $35 million during parent company Gymboree’s bankruptcy. Janie and Jack will continue to be based in San Francisco, Go Global said.

Go Global’s international reach will open new markets for Janie and Jack in the UK, Europe and Asia.

Jeff Streader, Founder and Managing Partner of Go Global, said in the release: “We are thrilled to acquire an incredible brand like Janie and Jack from the Gap. Our plan is to expand the company’s digital capabilities and accelerate online growth globally.”
