Instacart (San Francisco) announced today its new nationwide “Big & Bulky” fulfillment service for larger items.

The same-day and scheduled delivery of larger items allows retailers to post a wider range of their catalogs online, like outdoor furniture, home office supplies and oversized home goods and electronics, says Instacart.

Among the first partners of the grocery technology company’s new feature are Big Lots, The Container Store, Mastermind Toys, Office Depot, Spirit Halloween and Staples. Office Depot, for example, will now offer same-day delivery through Instacart of its desks, bookcases, file cabinets and office chairs.

Big & Bulky ordering is done via the Instacart app and select retailers’ Instacart platform-powered websites. Customers can also pair their regular Instacart orders with Big & Bulky orders for delivery at the same time.
