John Lewis Anchor Draws Leeds Tenants

Victoria Gate development 40 percent full

Published

on

Forty percent of the retail space in the Leeds, U.K. Victoria Gate development has been leased, thanks to the appeal of being situated next to the development’s John Lewis anchor store — one of the biggest outside London at 255,000 to 260,000 square feet.

The development is scheduled to open this fall in an effort to regenerate the Leeds city center, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

In contrast to the city’s Trinity Leeds development, which appeals to a young fashion and mass market audience, Victoria Gate will cater to a higher demographic and is aiming for a similar experience to South Molton Street in London, reports the Post. The names of the new tenants will be announced in a few weeks.
