Levi’s Hires Global Retail Exec

Craig Nomura comes from a similar role at Williams-Sonoma

Levi Strauss & Co. (San Francisco) has named Craig Nomura has been appointed president of global retail.

Nomura had been senior vp of global development at Williams-Sonoma Inc (San Francisco). He had also been at Gap, Guess, Foot Locker and Gymboree.

He succeeds Joelle Maher, who left Levi’s in June 2013 to join Gymboree Corp. (San Francisco) as chief operating officer.

In his new position, Nomura will also serve as executive vp, reporting directly to president and ceo Chip Bergh. He will be responsible for Levi’s 2800 stores around the world and the e-commerce operations.

“Craig is a true global citizen with a proven track record of delivering profitable growth for some of the world’s top retailers,” Bergh told Women’s Wear Daily.
