Envisioned as a luxe launching point for regional designer brands and exclusive international lines, Seibu Jakarta’s 108,000-square-foot store takes a retail-as-theater approach. A dramatic centrally located five-story etched-glass, chrome and mirror atrium boasts cantilevered stages that showcase custom displays and visual merchandising.

Each level is designed as a distinct space, while public spaces are tied together with elegant, effusive displays and finishes. For example, finely detailed, layered installations blend textures, colors and patterns – including the Japanese cherry blossom – that draw on Seibu’s Japanese heritage. And hand-carved and marble floors are accented by marble busts, carved statues and custom leather pieces handcrafted by local artisans.
