Shinsegae, Seoul, Korea

A renovation of Shinsegae’s 75-year-old, six-story store in Seoul led to an elegant reinvention. A loft-like setting on the fourth and fifth floors appeals to younger consumers, with a 22-foot-wide, two-story platform creating a central focal point.

The sixth-floor VIP area boasts amenities such as lounge areas and a sculpture garden. And a suspended circular art piece comprised of strands of tiny acrylic forms provides a dramatic, luminous focal point overhead.
