Sony entered the Australian market with its Sony Central interactive electronics showroom. Located in Sydney's sister city, Adelaide, the two-level, 2500-square-foot space houses the retailer's latest high-tech equipment in a comfortable atmosphere. Designers at KSDP Strategic Brand Consultants (Sydney) incorporated merchandise — DVD players, surround-sound, rear-projection televisions, VIAO notepad computers and digital picture frames — into home-like environments to show customers what the products would look like in situ. Metal, glass and wood display cases and natural wood floors highlight the circular lounge where patrons use the equipment as though in their own homes.
