After shuttering all Sony Stores in Canada in January, Sony (Tokyo) announced this week it will close eight of its 10 remaining retail stores in the U.S.

The eight identified Sony Stores will close over the next fiscal year, leaving only its Los Angeles and New York locations.

Sony president Mike Fasulo said the company will focus on expanding its retail footprint through its dealer channel by rolling out about 100 additional Sony Experience in-store shops, according to Twice.

Sony currently operates Sony Experience shops in 300 Best Buy stores and within nearly 100 showrooms run by other retailers.
