South Coast Chanel Store Gets Remodel

Adds 2000 square feet

The 25-year-old South Coast Plaza Chanel (Paris) boutique reopened yesterday with a new look and larger footprint.

The store, located in Orange County, Calif., was designed by Peter Marino and has a residential quality inspired by Coco Chanel’s apartment, according to Women’s Wear Daily. Marino’s concept is not new, but he keeps each location fresh by pulling in regional influences like the wave pattern on some of the South Coast store walls, evocative of the nearby ocean.

The boutique added about 2000 square feet and now totals 9000 square feet in the center’s Nordstrom wing. The additional space created room for a full line of fine jewelry, a watch boutique and an expanded ready-to-wear area along with the build-out of a dedicated shoe department.
