Walmart Launches Holiday Promotions

Aimed to improve in-store shopping experience

Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.) announced some of its plans to improve its customer service and attract more business this holiday shopping season.

Included are plans to ease the check-out experience by staffing its stores for the first time with “holiday helpers,” whose jobs will be solely dedicated to manning the checkout area. There, they will direct customers to the shortest line, open new lines when necessary and even hand out candy canes or run and grab a forgotten item.

The retailer also aims to improve the store’s shopping experience by increasing the number of exclusive items it will be stocking throughout the store as well as offering unique opportunities such as doubling its number of in-store demonstrations, offering chances to meet Santa Claus as well as setting up selfie booths, reports CNBC.
