Chico’s (Fort Meyers, Fla.) has named Christine Munnelly as Senior VP of Merchandising & Design for the Soma brand, owned by Chico’s. Munnelly will oversee the brand’s design and products as well as overall strategy. She will report directly to Chico’s CEO and President Molly Langenstein.

Most recently, Munnelly served as Senior VP of Merchandising for Ascena (Mahwah, N.J.) were she oversaw merchandising for Loft and Ann Taylor.

Prior to Ascena, Munnelly has also held leadership roles at Aeropostale (New York) and Macy’s (New York).

“Christine has a proven track record of results building customer-focused products with vast experience as a merchant and will be instrumental to the Soma brand continuing our growth strategy,” says Langenstein.

Chico’s currently operates 1258 stores in the U.S. and 58 international franchises in Mexico.
