New Buyers for J. Crew?

Sears and Urban Outfitters said to be among those interested in J. Crew sale

J. Crew Group Inc. (New York), which last month agreed to sell itself to TPG Capital and Leonard Green & Partners for $3 billion, may have some potential new suitors.

The New York Times, citing unnamed sources, reports Sears Holdings and Urban Outfitters, as well as two other private equity firms are said to be interested in the preppy apparel retailer.

J. Crew has until January 15 to seek higher bidders.
