Sears Hires New President

Joelle Maher to oversee Shop Your Way loyalty program

Sears Holdings (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) announced that it has hired Joelle Maher as president and chief member officer for Sears stores. In her new role, she will oversee operations of Sears stores, as well as oversee the company’s Shop Your Way loyalty program.

Maher was previously coo for Gymboree (San Francisco), where she worked for two years. She has also worked for other retail companies including Levi Strauss & Co. (San Francisco), Lucky Brand Jeans (Los Angeles) and Old Navy (San Francisco).

According to Chicago Tribune, Maher is joining the company at, what she called, “this critical time during the company's transformation,” in a memo to Sears employees, referring to the company's struggling business and its efforts at revitalization.
